Stuart Wright Managing Partner
Stuart is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and works closely with the other senior team members to deliver pragmatic advice for clients. With a specialism in audit and accounts, Stuart advises clients in all industries, from start-ups to mature businesses on a range of matters including acquisitions, sales and group reorganisations.
He is also a trusted advisor to many families on matters of their personal tax and wealth, and the long-standing relationships he has developed have led to him being entrusted with advising younger generations as they make their way in business.
Stuart is an active member of the community and is currently a trustee at Harrogate Theatre and Chairman of Harrogate and District Round Table, an organisation that raises tens of thousands of pounds each year for charities by organising events such as the Charity Beer Festival and the community bonfire on the Stray.

How did you come to join the Leathers team?
A mutual acquaintance of Michael and mine introduced us. Our shared enthusiasm for the job and straight-talking approach meant I couldn't resist the opportunity to join the team and contribute to its ongoing growth and success.
What skills from outside accountancy do you apply to your job?
I’m an engineer at heart, so the ability to assess complex problems from a number of angles is an essential skill.
If you hadn’t worked in finance, what might you have done?
Well unfortunately my ambition of being lead guitarist for Pearl Jam in the 90’s never managed to materialise so I think I’d be in the automotive world having previously worked in product development at Land Rover.
