Reorganisation of offshore business after legislation change
Following a change in UK law affecting non-UK based land developers, we identified the need to restructure the business of a client who was based offshore but was involved in the development of land in the UK.
It was critical that the business continued to operate as it had before, within the confines of the UK tax system, and remained compliant with the new legislation.
Our advice covered a whole spectrum of tax and accounts advice and resulted in the business being based in the UK and operating successfully nationwide.
Michael Leather, Chris Smith, Alex Newsham and Barry James advised on the restructure and provided detailed advice on UK tax and the implications of offshore residency.
Joe Black assisted with the associated accounts work.
